We provide the following services in the surgery according to the current GMS contract, please state the nature of the service you require, so that the receptionist is able to make the appropriate appointment for you:
Women's Services
Maternity Services: The Community Midwife is able to provide all aspects of maternity care. This will involve booking clinic and periodic anti-natal check ups during pregnancy.
Post Natal Checks: Your postnatal appointment will be arranged by the practice, with either the nurse Practitioner, or the practice nurse, along with the eight week baby check and baby's first immunisation.
Pre Conceptual Advice and Family Planning: Our practice nurses are family planning trained. You will be able to discuss all aspects of family planning with them by making a direct appointment for oral contraception (pill), post coital contraception (morning after pill) and coil check up.
Child Health Surveillance and Immunisations
We will send you appointments for your baby's development checks and immunisations. If your child is unwell and unable to attend, please contact the surgery so an alternative appointment can be arranged. Please bring your child's Development Book (Yellow Book) with you.
Health Promotion Clinics
It is advisable to have periodical health checks (once every three years) when you are in good health.
Our practice nurses are able to advise you on all aspects of healthy life style. The practice nurses will also give advice regarding a healthy diet, and weight reduction.
Quit Smoking Clinic our practice nurses are trained and work closely with the quit smoking team, to help you 'quit smoking'. – Further guidance can be obtained at https://www.timetoquit.co.uk/ or you may make a direct appointment at your local Quit Smoking Clinic by dialling 0800 952 4433.
You are up to four times more likely to give up smoking with your local NHS Quit Smoking Service, along with nicotine gum and patches.
Chronic Disease Management
Doctors, Specialist nurses and the practice nurses will closely monitor your condition, carry out relevant tests and review medication. This will provide you with management of your illness, in accordance with up to date guidelines, in the familiar setting of your own practice.
